Tableau is a Seattle-based data-visualization software company that hired Connelly Works – now Yes& - in 2018 to expand Tableau’s content strategy in the federal sector.
While the data analytics market was becoming increasingly crowded, Tableau differentiated itself by having an easy, self-service platform with interactive dashboards and creative design that can be scaled to enterprise. Its achievements were recognized by industry peers at Gartner, FastCompany, Bloomberg, and Fortune magazine. Meanwhile, data analytics was changing in the federal sector from a wish-list item to a mandate. The President’s Management Agenda, released in 2018, and the Federal Data Strategy, released this year, require federal agencies to maintain data in such a way that it is useful for decision-making - in other words, the kind of deep analysis and visualization that requires a technical solution.
Seeing the perfect opening and knowing Yes&’s expertise in B2G IT, Tableau contracted with Yes& to provide thought leadership content around the Federal Data Strategy and the importance of federal agencies being able to tap into the wealth of data they hold. Yes& discussed strategy with Tableau’s communications team, interviewed executives and subject matter experts, and wrote several content pieces early in 2019. Tableau went a step farther in the fall and partnered with Yes& to launch a communications campaign about how Tableau and its channel partner Grant Thornton work with federal agencies to reduce fraud, waste, and abuse in federal programs. Several pieces of content are being rolled out in late 2019 and early 2020, starting with these:
