As a recent hire at Yes&, I’ve been introduced to the various and exciting capabilities of our video department. In my role as a Production Coordinator, I collaborate with myriad production partners in the creation of television and radio commercials for cross-platform, integrated advertising campaigns.
To help you better understand my daily responsibilities, I’ve broken them down in three parts.
EXTERNAL
On any given day, I might find myself liaising with partners to help find solutions to creative and practical challenges. I might search for talented individuals to bolster our efforts in producing award-winning work, or I might dedicate my time looking for companies that specialize in accessible content, such as audio descriptive text or captioning for ADA compliance. At Yes&, we use the highest-caliber collaborators to ensure that we exceed our clients' expectations.
INTERNAL
We strive to present our capabilities in the best light possible. I’d like to think of our social channels as our own professional resume. I help maintain our Vimeo portfolio page to showcase our agency and help us stand out from competitors. I also organize the high volumes of data from our projects and work to maintain our digital asset libraries for archival purposes.
CREATIVE
One of my favorite aspects of the work is contributing to creative development. Working closely with our Video Production Director and Post-Production Supervisor, I edit both the visual and sonic components of our campaigns. Recently, I spent a day crafting music, dialogue, narration, and sound design for a TV commercial to air during the current NCAA College Basketball Tournament. Additionally, I lend support to our video Content Studio, which specializes in high-value, in-house productions.
I’m grateful to have such a fulfilling role within the agency. There are few places where I’d have the creative freedom to work on a live set on one day and contribute to the creation of ads for television on another. Being a member of the video department at Yes& has allowed me to experience this first-hand, and I am motivated by the work we do. I ask myself every day, “How can we create better advertisements than our previous ones?” It's a question that drives our team's ongoing commitment to constant growth, innovation, and excellence.
